Arlington Housing Authority administers state and federally aided supported affordable housing programs for low-income family, elderly and disabled households.

State Aided Housing

State applications are available from the Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities's website or from our links below. The Universal Application for State Aided MRVP, and the Application for State-Aided Public Housing can be submitted to any Local Housing Agency that administers programs funded by EOHLC. AHA Programs to apply for:

Family Public Housing: Families may apply for one (1) *, two (2) and three (3) bedroom units at Menotomy Manor, our family development. There are a total of 179 units, including seven handicap/barrier free units.

*AHA only has one Ch. 705 one-bedroom unit.

Elderly and Disabled Public Housing: Applicants may apply for one (1) bedroom units for a portfolio of 520 units amongst five developments.

Massachusetts Rental Voucher Program: A state-administered program which provides housing assistance to low-income families. Tenant-based mobile vouchers allow participants to find any housing unit within Massachusetts.

*AHA currently has 8 MRVP Vouchers.

Preliminary Eligibility includes:

     • Household income does not exceed income limit, see AMI (effective 5/15/2023) See Boston-Cambridge-Quincy
     • Applicant or household meets the definition of elderly and/or disabled (Elderly/Disabled Housing)

You must apply for State-aided Public Housing and MRVP waitlists with a Common Housing Application for Massachusetts Programs (CHAMP)..
